JEE Main 2022 Session 1 topper Hemanshu Garg from Delhi spoke to us about his preparation strategy, future plans, and more.
The JEE Main 2022 results for Session 1 Paper 1 were declared on Monday and Hemanshu Garg from Delhi became one of the 14 candidates across India who scored a perfect 100 percentile.
The son of an engineer father and a doctor mother now plans to study in IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay. We got talking to him to understand more about his future plans, preparation strategy and tips for future aspirants.
“My parents have always been very supportive of whatever career I wanted to take. They asked me to go for whatever I want,” says Hemanshu.
“I was a curious kid and was very inclined towards the sciences. In Class 10, the moment of choice came to choose between medical and engineering. I veered towards engineering as I liked Math more than Biology,” he added.
“I began my serious preparation for JEE in Class 11. I studied mainly for JEE Advanced as it covered both the syllabi of JEE Main and the Class 12 board exam,” Hemanshu says.
“There are some topics which are asked in JEE Main but not in JEE Advanced. For them, I had to work a little extra,” adds the JEE Main topper.
He explains that his routine was pretty flexible. He just followed monthly targets of how much he should prepare each month instead of micromanaging study plans on a daily basis.
