JD Vance Eviscerated On Social Media Over 'Imperialist Fantasies' Of Acquiring Greenland

Vice President JD Vance has shared a sweeping video montage chronicling his recent visit to Greenland, the Danish territory President Donald Trump is proposing to take over, with lofty claims that are already being picked apart by American social media users.
“President Trump leads America with peace through strength, and that means showing strength when you have to,” Vance wrote Monday on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, ahead of the minute-long montage. “It’s time to bring security back to Greenland.”
The footage itself showed Vance visiting with U.S. troops at the Pituffik Space Base and was scored to key parts of Vance’s speech there Friday, in which he claimed Trump — who hasn’t ruled out using military force to take the territory over — is “a president of peace.”
“Unfortunately, the story of Greenland over the past 20 years, when it comes to security, is that we’ve underinvested in the brave men and women who are doing a very hard job to keep all of us safe,” says Vance in the clip. “That has to change.”
The bold claim that Trump is interested in peace hasn’t gone over smoothly on X, as the president recently suggested that the U.S. should “take over” Gaza and turn it into “the Riviera of the Middle East” — and is currently also proposing Canada’s annexation.
