Jayant Chaudhary to be SP-RLD alliance's joint candidate for Rajya Sabha election

Jayant Chaudhary has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha as the joint candidate of the SP-RLD alliance.

Jayant Chaudhary has been nominated as the joint candidate for Rajya Sabha for the alliance of the Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal.

Jayant Choudhary is the third Rajya Sabha candidate announced by the Samajwadi Party.

The SP and RLD announced their alliance in December 2021, ahead of the UP Assembly elections 2022.

Congress heavyweight Kapil Sibal resigned from the party on May 16 and filed a Rajya Sabha nomination as an Independent candidate with backing from the Samajwadi Party. He said, "I have filed nomination as an Independent candidate with the help of SP."
