Jasprit Bumrah's worth in Indian team is what Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis's was for Pakistan: Salman Butt
India Today
Former Pakistan opener Salman Butt heaped rich praise on Jasprit Bumrah, saying India pacer's worth in Team India is what Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis's was for Pakistan.
Former Pakistan opener Salman Butt has compared Jasprit Bumrah's role in the current Indian team to that of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis for Pakistan in the 1990s and early 2000s. Butt also compared Bumrah to a Ferrari and advised India to use him wisely. Notably, Bumrah has been India's pace spearhead over the past few years and will be key for the Indian team in the upcoming World Test Championship final against New Zealand, which will take place at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton from June 18. "In simple words, he is not a Toyota or a Corolla. Bowlers like him are of the caliber of Ferrari, Lamborghini the big end cars, the special event cars. With such bowlers, you need to ensure you use them judiciously. With him, you have to select the occasions and conditions properly. And when you do that, you increase your timeline with him. The more he is used in valuable matches, the better output he will give. Bumrah is unique and at the moment, he is one of the best," Butt said on his YouTube channel.More Related News
