Japan diaries: PM Modi and IT company head Nobuhiro Endo discuss opportunities in India

On the first day of his Japan visit, PM Modi met IT company NEC Corporation's chairman Nobuhiro Endo in Tokyo.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Nobuhiro Endo, the chairman of IT company NEC Corporation, in Tokyo on Monday. PM Modi is, at present, on a two-day visit to Japan for the second in-person Quad summit, scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
During their meet, Nobuhiro Endo spoke about opportunities in India in areas such as smart cities, emerging technologies and digital learning. He also discussed efforts to encourage learning of Japanese in India with PM Modi, as per an official statement from the Prime Minister's Office.
"PM Modi has strong intentions to build and enhance capabilities," Nobuhiro Endo said.
PM Modi appreciated NEC Corporation's role in India’s telecommunication sector, especially in undertaking Chennai-Andaman & Nicobar Islands (CANI) & Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands (KLI) Optical Fibre Cable projects.
Additionally, PM Modi spoke about India's reform trajectory and highlighted investment opportunities in the country.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister's Office said, "PM Modi met Mr. Nobuhiro Endo, the Chairman of NEC Corporation. Mr Endo spoke about opportunities in India in areas such as smart cities, emerging technologies and an innovative effort to encourage learning of Japanese in India."
