Jammu Police crackdown on traders selling banned Chinese manja, two arrested

Jammu Police confiscated 1018 rolls of Chinese manja and arrested two people for selling the banned synthetic thread commonly used for kite-flying.
Taking cognizance of reports that banned Chinese synthetic thread, or manja, was being sold illegally at many places in Jammu during the current festive season, Jammu Police has carried out raids to check the menace of the sale of glass coated thread. Teams from Police Post Chinore arrested a shopkeeper with four rolls of synthetic thread (manja) last week. During sustained questioning, he disclosed that one person namely Sahil Behal resident of Bakshi Nagar, Jammu is also dealing in the sale of banned synthetic threads (gattu) in the area.More Related News
