Jammu and Kashmir top cop visits family of policeman killed in encounter

Rohit Chib was evacuating civilians from the site of an encounter with terrorists in Kulgam when he was killed.
Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh visited the family of Rohit Chib, who was killed in an encounter in Kulgam's Pariwan area last month while evacuating civilians from the area, and expressed solidarity with the family. The top cop prayed for the jawan who died fighting terrorists.
While interacting with the family, Dilbag Singh said that the entire police force stands with the families of soldiers killed in action and shares their grief and sorrow. He also assured that the J&K police force would support the family in every way.
Rohit Chib joined the J&K Police as a constable in 2011 and was promoted for his dedication towards duties in 2017.
Earlier, the top cop also visited another officer, Sumir Kotwal, who was injured in the encounter and recovering at home. Singh spoke with the officer and his family members and expressed his happiness over his recovery.
In the encounter, a terrorist affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed group was gunned down.
