"The devil is busy," the Oscar winner said on social media.
Jamie Foxx seemingly shared a cryptic statement following reports of an altercation at his birthday celebration in Beverly Hills, California, on Friday that left him injured.
On Saturday, the Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed in a media release on X, formerly called Twitter, that officers responded to “a possible assault with a deadly weapon” at Mr. Chow, a restaurant in Beverly Hills, shortly after 10 p.m., and that “no arrests were made.” They did not mention Foxx by name.
However, a spokesperson for Foxx told CBS News that the actor, who just turned 57, was at Mr. Chow for “his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.”
“He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands,” the representative added.
On Sunday, Foxx appeared to indirectly address the incident in a post to his fans on Instagram, sharing a message that read, “The devil is busy... but I’m too blessed to be stressed.”
