1. A communal violence broke out during a Hanuman Jayanti procession on Saturday. According to the police, stones were pelted and several vehicles were set ablaze. Many, including several police personnel, were injured in the violence. Swords and weapons were allegedly brandished at the procession.
2. A plea, seeking the intervention of the Chief Justice of India, has been filed in the Supreme Court.
3. Seven-eight rounds of bullets were also fired during the violence, in which Delhi Police sub-inspector Medalal Meena was injured. Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh visited Asthana Medalal Meena and assured him of all support from the department.
4. Paramilitary forces were sent to Jahangirpuri to bring the situation under control. The Centre deployed around 200 Rapid Action Force personnel along with the Delhi Police.
