J&K cops arrest newly recruited militant in south Kashmir's Kulgam district

Jammu & Kashmir Police has arrested a newly recruited militant and conducted multiple raids in south Kashmir area to apprehend many youngsters who were yet to join militant groups.
The J&K police arrested a newly recruited militant in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Friday. The security forces said the militant was identified as Shakir Ahmad from Ardkhera Imamsahib Shopian. He was arrested from Frisal Yaripora in Kulgam.This comes a day after the cops apprehended 13 youngsters in Awantipora area out of which 6 were to reportedly join the militant groups, while as others were working as “Associates of Terror” groups. “In multiple raids, Awantipora Police, along with Army 42 RR and CRPF180 BN/CRPF 130 BN, apprehended 6 youths, who were planning to join militant groups. Moreover, the police also arrested 7 terrorist associates of proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad,” read a police statement.The police statement further claimed the youngsters were motivated and indoctrinated by the terror associates and terrorists to join the terrorist ranks. “The said youth developed contact with the active terrorists in the said area for joining terrorism by means of the terrorist associates (arrested by police),” read the statement.As per cops, the arrested “terror associates” were involved in providing logistics, shelter, transporting of arms and ammunition and other kind of support to terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammad in Tral and Awantipora areas.More Related News
