It will be a matter of time that Virat Kohli will be back among runs for the Indian team: Anjum Chopra

Former Indian Women's team captain Anjum Chopra has suggested that it is just a matter of time before Virat Kohli will regain his form and be back amongst the runs.
Former Indian Women's team captain backed Virat Kohli to regain from and said it will only be a matter of time before the star batter is amongst the runs for the national side.
Kohli's struggles on the international stage have been well-documented with the former India captain's last hundred coming way back in 2019. The star batter also failed to make any sort of meaningful impact during the recently-concluded tour of England and was excluded from the squad for the series against West Indies.
Despite this, Chopra believes that the 33-year-old is trying everything to regain form. Speaking to ANI, the former Indian Women's team captain said that Kohli knows what he needs to do and is constantly practicing to get out of the slump.
“Virat Kohli himself knows what he needs. When you do not score as per your standards, you practice more. I am sure that he is practicing, is doing, and will keep doing everything to back in form. The way international cricket goes, practice is the only way out. A player can only try and make the effort. And a player like him must be trying and trying to get out of the slump. But sometimes, things do not go your way. The kind of adulation and focus he has had on him over the years, this dip was bound to happen sometime,” said Chopra.
Chopra went on to suggest that while she has seen players survive in the team by scoring fewer runs, when it comes to Kohli it looks bad because of the high bar he has set for himself. She also went on to say that it is only a matter of time before the former India captain will be back among the runs.
“I have seen players scoring 30s and 40s and surviving in the Indian team for years. But from his bat, the 30s and 40s look less because of the standard he has set for himself. I am sure that it will be a matter of time that he will be back among runs for the Indian team,” said Chopra.
