Expelled BJP functionary Naveen Kumar Jindal shared on social media that he had received death threats with the video of the Udaipur tailor being beheaded attached to it.
A day after a man was beheaded in Udaipur over a social media post in support of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, expelled BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal alleged that he had received death threats on email and had informed the Delhi Police about the incident.
Taking to Twitter, Jindal said that he had received three emails on Wednesday morning at 6:43 am with a video of the Udaipur shopkeeper Kanhaiya Lal being beheaded attached to it. He said that similar threats of beheading him and his family were made in the emails.
I have informed the PCR, Jindal said.
The sacked BJP leader also asked the Delhi Police to take the case into immediate consideration.
Two men murdered a Hindu tailor in Rajasthan’s Udaipur on Tuesday and posted videos online that said they were avenging an insult to Islam after the victim had allegedly made social media posts in support of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
The murder triggered outrage and stray incidents of violence in the state, where prohibitory orders have been clamped for a month. Curfew has been imposed till further orders in seven police station areas of Udaipur city. The two accused have been arrested.
