Virat Kohli has shared a special video recounting his journey in international cricket as the Indian star celebrates the 14th anniversary of his debut.
Kohli made his debut for the Indian cricket team back in 2008 at Dambulla in an ODI match against Sri Lanka. The Indian batter, who had made a name for himself as the captain of the victorious U-19 India team, walked out as an opener alongside Gautam Gambhir that day.
He only managed to score 12 runs that day and was dismissed by Nuwan Kulasekara as Sri Lanka won the game by eight wickets.
Since then, Kohli has gone from strength to strength and has cemented himself as one of the modern-day greats of the sport and racked up many records to his name.
The 33-year-old has represented India in all three formats of the game and has been a standout in all three. Kohli has played 102 Test matches, scoring 8074 runs in the format and slamming 27 hundreds along the way.
His record is even better in ODIs. In the 262 matches he has played, the former India captain has amassed 12,344 runs and scored 43 hundreds as well.
Kohli took to Instagram and shared a special video to celebrate his 14th year in international cricket and also had a short message for his fans. The Indian star batter said it has been an honour playing for the nation.
