At a bomb shelter in Kharkiv, a group of Ukrainians said they were scared but derived hope and support from each other. "We believe in our country and our will," one woman said.
At a bomb shelter in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, a middle-aged woman said quietly that she was very scared. “It’s a sea of horror. I am very afraid,” she told 19-year-old local reporter Mikhaylo Kutovyi.
The bomb shelter set up by civilians is located in a place that is under attack from Russian air strikes. People of all ages including young children are staying at the shelter.

Local volunteers provide them with food, medicines, water and other essentials.
“This place is safe. The volunteers support us and bring us food and water. In this difficult situation, we are all supporting each other. We believe in our people and our country and our will,” she said.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 and went on to launch strikes across the country. The war has triggered a massive refugee crisis and resulted in the death of several hundred civilians in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has claimed that more than 12,000 Russian troops have been killed in the war so far.
