dpa Tel AvivIsraeli forces demolished the house of a Palestinian accused of murdering an Israeli settler in the northern West Bank on Saturday.The 25-year-old Israeli was killed on December 16 when the car he was travelling in was shot at. Two other people suffered injuries. The army subsequently arrested four Palestinian suspects.The army confirmed on Saturday that the house of one of the suspects in a town near Jenin was destroyed during the night. During the operation, residents threw stones and incendiary devices, with soldiers responding by firing at them.Palestinians have repeatedly attacked Israelis in the Israeli-occupied West Bank in recent weeks.Israel conquered the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 1967. The Palestinians want the territories for their own state with East Jerusalem as its capital.Israel conducts house demolitions as a deterrent. Human rights organizations consider this collective punishment a violation of international humanitarian law.Israeli security forces on Saturday continued to search for two Palestinians suspected in a recent attack in the Israeli village of Elad that took the death toll in the latest wave of violence to 17.
