Muslim organisations in Kerala have sought a strong intervention from the Centre in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict even as India's Permanent Representative and Ambassador to the United Nations T.S. Tirumurti has called for immediate de-escalation of hostilities between the two countries. This was unlike when many organisations, which have been espousing the Palestinian cause for years, were guarded in their response when the U.S. brokered a diplomatic deal between the U.A.E. and Israel last year.
Under the NBS, newborns are screened for communication disorders before they are discharged from the hospital. For this, AIISH has collaborated with several hospitals to conduct screening which is performed to detect hearing impairment and other developmental disabilities that can affect speech and language development. The screening has been helping in early intervention for those identified with the disorders, as any delay in the identification poses risk and affects successful management of children with hearing loss, according to AIISH.
