Islanders rework goaltending staff ahead of critical offseason for Ilya Sorokin
NY Post
It did not take the Islanders long to reshuffle their goaltending staff.
One day after director of goaltending Mitch Korn left the organization to join the Predators, the Islanders announced that AHL Bridgeport goaltending coach Chris Terreri will transition to director of goaltending and scouting.
The Islanders also hired Sergei Naumovs to replace Terreri as goaltending coach for the AHL club and said Piero Greco will remain goalie coach for the NHL team.
Terreri, who has a history with Lou Lamoriello dating back to the early 1980s when Lamoriello coached him at Providence College, has been with the organization since 2017-18.
Prior to that, he worked for the Devils and their AHL affiliates in Lowell and Albany dating back to 2001.
The hire of Naumovs, who previously worked in the KHL, will give Ilya Sorokin a familiar face in the organization following his worst season since coming over from Russia.

The preferred path to follow remains in place: Select a quarterback with the No. 3 pick in the draft. That is what the Giants hope will happen. When it comes to identifying and securing a franchise-saving player, though, hope is not a good thing, maybe the worst of things — with apologies to Andy Dufresne.
