It is not every day that you get to see Aahana Kumra play an antagonist in a film or show. But the tables have now turned. The actress appears in a never-seen-ever avatar in Avrodh 2. With a lot of exciting projects in her kitty, rumours have been rife that Aahana has a part in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Shamshera. How true is it? Aahana reveals it all during an interview with IndiaToday.in.
Aahana Kumra as the antagonist in Avrodh 2 will make for one interesting watch. Besides this, there have been rumours that she is a part of Ranbir Kapoor-starrer and Karan Malhotra-directorial Shamshera. In fact, the actress’ name appeared on the cast list for the film in several pages. Though the same now ceases to exist, we at IndiaToday.in, asked Aahana if rumours of her being cast in Shamshera are true. The actress replied, “No, I am not (laughs). I don't know. They haven't been removing my name and I have been telling them 'Guys, remove my name from there'. I have been telling them.”
Directed by Raj Acharya and produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Juggernaut productions, Avrodh 2 is written by Brijesh Jayrajan and Sudeep Nigam. Apart from Aahana Kumra and Abir Chatterjee, the show features Mohan Agashe, Neeraj Kabi, Anant Mahadevan, Rajesh Khattar and Sanjay Suri, among others. The show is inspired by the book India’s Most Fearless 2 by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, Chapter 9 - Just Tell Me When To Begin Sir. Avrodh 2 releases on June 24.
Shamshera releases on July 22. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Shamshera is produced by Yash Raj Films. It is reportedly set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general, Shudh Singh. In Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor is playing a larger-than-life quintessential Hindi film hero for the first time in his career.
