Irfan Pathan, Parthiv Patel, Ian Bishop delighted after Rahul Tripathi gets maiden India call-up for Ireland T20I series

Rahul Tripathi has been called up to play for India after he had an incredible run for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL).

Former pacers Ian Bishop, Irfan Pathan and retired wicket-keeper batter Parthiv Patel were delighted after Rahul Tripathi was picked to play for India in the upcoming two-match T20I series against Ireland. Tripathi has been waiting in the wings for quite some time after performing well for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

After not being picked for the ongoing five-match T20I series against South Africa, the Indian selectors faced flak for not picking the right-handed batter. After his name was included for the 20-over games, Bishop, Pathan and Parthiv congratulated him.

Bishop took to Twitter and wrote, “So Happy for Rahul Tripathi man. Well deserved. Hope Samson makes the best use of this outing. Something special about his batting.”
