Irfan Pathan on swing bowling: You can't go from being Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Shoaib Akhtar
India Today
Former India pacer Irfan Pathan has said that bowlers should not lose their swing for some extra pace as it was impossible becoming Shoaib Akhtar from a Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Irfan Pathan, the first Indian pacer to take a hat-trick in Test cricket, has said that fast bowlers should not sacrifice their swing for some extra pace as "becoming Shoaib Akhtar from Bhuvneshwar Kumar was impossible". Pathan cited Bhuvneshwar Kumar's example to explain that a swing bowler can survive anywhere in the world and pace was not the only essence of fast bowling. In his column for The Playfield Magazine, the 36-year-old, added that swinging the ball while bowling between 130-135 kmph was scientifically proven. Irfan Pathan also reckoned that swing bowlers can add variations and bowl yorkers to bring more to the table and just going for the speed was not a good decision.More Related News
