Mitchell Santner had tested positive for Covid-19 on July 3. He was forced to stay back while his teammates flew out for the tour. The spin bowling all-rounder also missed the first ODI against Ireland.
Mitchell Santner has recovered from Covid-19 and will be available for selection in the second ODI between Ireland and New Zealand at The Village, Malahide on Tuesday.
Santner, who was named as New Zealand captain for the T20I series against Ireland, had tested positive for Covid-19 on July 3. Subsequently, he was forced to stay back while his teammates flew out for the tour. The spin bowling allrounder also missed the first ODI, which New Zealand won by one wicket.
New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tom Latham is leading the team in ODIs against Ireland. Following the ODI series, Santner will take over the captaincy from Latham, who will return to New Zealand along with Henry Nicholls, Matt Henry, Will Young and Jacob Duffy after the ODI leg.

New Zealand are playing three ODIs and as many T20Is against Ireland. The BlackCaps will then meet Scotland for an ODI and the Netherlands for two T20Is.
