Iran-backed Houthis shoot down US MQ-9 Reaper drone off coast of Yemen

Iran-backed Houthis militants shot down a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone conducting surveillance off the coast of Yemen on Wednesday, according to a senior defense official.
The senior U.S. defense official added that the aircraft was shot down while in international airspace over international waters off the coast of Yemen, and that U.S. Central Command officials are currently assessing the incident. Jennifer Griffin currently serves as a national security correspondent for FOX News Channel (FNC) and is based out of the Washington D.C. bureau. She joined the network in October 1999 as a Jerusalem-based correspondent.
The MQ-9 was reportedly conducting surveillance over Yemen when a Houthi militia backed by Iran, fired at and shot down the $30 million drone Wednesday.
