IPS Rashmi Shukla not to be arrested, will be interrogated on camera for phone intercepts case

Bombay High Court on Thursday granted IPS Rashmi Shukla relief from arrest in connection with the phone intercept case filed against her by the Mumbai Police.
IPS officer Rashmi Shukla was on Thursday granted relief from arrest in the case registered by Mumbai Police against unknown people under the Official Secrets Act. Shukla is currently in Hyderabad with the CRPF. Mumbai police investigators will go to Hyderabad and video record her statement. Shukla had approached the Bombay High Court seeking to quash the FIR registered by the Mumbai Police for leaking information pertaining to police postings. The FIR was registered by the cybercrime department, Mumbai under the Official Secrets Act against unidentified persons over alleged call intercepts and alleged leaking of certain confidential documents. Shukla was summoned by the Mumbai Police on April 26, 2021. However, she sent a response expressing her inability to be present due to the Covid situation. Thereafter, the police sent her a fresh summons on April 28, 2021 to record her statement.More Related News
