IPL founder Lalit Modi took to social media to quash the rumours of a film being made on him. He also said that he will be announcing his biopic soon.
Since a long time there have been rumours of a film being made on IPL founder Lalit Kumar Modi. It was reported that Vishnu Vardhan Induri, who has produced films like 83 and Thalaivii, will make his next movie around the book Maverick Commissioner written by renowned sports journalist Boria Majumdar on the Lalit Modi IPL saga. However, Lalit has now quashed the rumours in a new tweet. He has also threatened legal action.
Taking to his Twitter account, Lalit Kumar Modi tweeted, "Surprised to see my name associated with some book soon to be a movie. I have NOTHING whatsoever to do with this film or book. I have my own BIOPIC announcement to make in the next few weeks. Time to call my lawyers again. Watch this Space (sic)."

The Indian Premier League (IPL) was inaugurated in 2008 with eight franchises. The concept was introduced by Lalit Modi, the former chairman and commissioner of the league.
"Winning the 83 World Cup was the tip of the iceberg. The book “Maverick Commissioner” by sports journalist @BoriaMajumdar is a fascinating account of the IPL and the Man behind it Lalit Modi. Elated to announce that we are adapting this book into a feature film.@SimonSchusterIN (sic)," Vishnu Induri had tweeted on April 18.
