Hours after convincingly acing his first challenge as India's Test captain, Rohit Sharma began work for his Indian Premier League franchise, Mumbai Indians, as they look to win a record-extending 6th title. With less than 2 weeks to go for IPL 2022, Rohit joined the Mumbai Indians camp as he flew out of Bengaluru and reached Mumbai late on Monday.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians also announced the arrival of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah as the preparations for the new 10-team season are set to get intense in the coming days. The India players, who were part of the Test series against Sri Lanka, are unlikely to have a mandatory quarantine period while all others will have to undergo a 3-day hard quarantine before entering the bio-bubble.
Rohit will lead Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022, starting March 26. The 5-time champions will be looking to seal a record-extending 6th crown as they play their matches in familiar conditions in Mumbai and Pune.
Rohit Sharma has had a dream run as India's full-time captain across all 3 formats of the game. While he helped India hammer New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lanka in limited-overs assignments at home, Rohit led India to a convincing 2-0 sweep of Sri Lanka in his first assignment as Test captain.
Rohit will be looking forward to quickly adapting to the condition in the IPL after an eventful past few months in which he took over as India's full-time captain and made a fine first impression.
