IPL 2022: Singapore all-rounder Tim David, who bagged an Rs 8.25 crore deal with Mumbai Indians, said he is relishing the opportunity to learn the art of finishing from Kieron Pollard.
Singapore all-rounder Tim David said he is relishing the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 experience and that it's been a learning curve for him, working under a 'fun' captain Rohit Sharma. David, who has been a fine T20 globetrotter,
Tim David triggered a bidding war but Mumbai Indians bought the big-hitter for Rs 8.25 crore, more than 20 times his base price. David got the opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade from the most successful IPL side which is known for backing its talents to the hilt.
Mumbai Indians have gotten off to a poor start, losing their first two matches but Tim David said everyone in the team is slowly settling down and looking forward to returning to winning ways. The 5-time champions lost to Delhi Capitals in their opening game before being hammered by Rajasthan Royals over the weekend. They will next face Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday, April 6.
“He has been a fun captain,” David said of Rohit.
“I’ve only played two games with him, so just getting used to playing with him. Getting used to playing with lots of guys in the team, but we’ll find our feet and start playing better as a team as the tournament goes on. But it’s been good fun so far," he added.
Tim David, who made his international debut in 2019, has played 14 T20Is and hit 558 runs at a staggering rate of 159.52. In 91 T20s, David has hit 1978 runs at a strike rate of 159.
David said he is relishing the opportunity to learn from one of the best finishers in the game, Kieron Pollard.
