Indian Premier League retention rules allow franchises to hang on to four players out of which two can be overseas cricketers.

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians have decided to retain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Kumar for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, the franchise announced on Tuesday.

"As we all know, it was going to be the toughest retention for MI this year. We have had solid, solid players and absolutely gu players in our squad and to release them is absolutely heartbreaking.
