IPL 2022: MS Dhoni interuptted U19 World Cup star Rajvardhan Hangargekar and made a cheeky comment when the teenager was asked about his interaction with the CSK captain during a virtual event earlier this week.
Former India captain MS Dhoni was in the mood to have some fun at a virtual interaction organised by India Cements, the parent organization of Chennai Super Kings when he was interacting with fans along with CSK's IPL 2022 new recruits Rajvardhan Hangargekar and Shivam Dube.
When Hangargekar, the U19 World Cup-winning fast bowler, was asked about his interaction with MS Dhoni, the CSK captain intervened and made a cheeky comment.
"He has been told to improve his football skills," Dhoni said, cracking up the fans at the event. Notably, Dhoni, who was also a goalkeeper during his school days, loves his football at practice sessions and has the sport as part of training sessions in the teams he is part of.
Meanwhile, Hangargekar said Dhoni gave him a simple piece of advice during his first training session with CSK. Hangargekar, who shone with his pace at the U19 World Cup, was bought by CSK at the IPl 2022 mega auction for Rs 2 crore.
"On the first day of practice, MS bhaiya told me just go with what you are already doing. Don't change anything. Just keep doing what you have been doing really well. That was a really good piece of advice for me, that I have the freedom to do what I'm doing," Hangargekar said.
Meanwhile, Dhoni heaped praise on the practice facilities in Surat where CSK are having their pre-season training camp. Dhoni has been overseeing the training in the lead up to IPL 2022, which gets underway from March 26.
"Everyone is very excited, this 15-20 days time will give extra time for them to get used to each other. Facilities in Surat are outstanding. Whatever we have required, they have provided. The facility, reception and hospitality have been great," Dhoni said.
