IPL 2022: I can be a much better batter, should be taking more responsibility - Rashid Khan

Afghanisttan spinner Rashid Khan, who is plying his trade for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022, said he believes he has all the tools to take his batting a notch higher and regularly contribute in more than one way for his teams.
Rashid Khan has shown glimpses of his batting potential, be it in the Indian Premier League or the Big Bash League but the Afghanistan all-rounder said he is looking to be an improved batter who can delivery consistently in more than one department.
Rashid Khan, who made his IPL debut in 2017, has risen to be one of the finest bowlers, especially in the shorter formats of the game. Rashid has taken 95 wickets in 78 matches but has managed just 222 runs in the said period. At the international level, Rashid averages 20 with the bat in ODIs while he has made decent use of opportunities lower down the order in T20s.
Having earned a Rs 15 crore deal with Gujarat Titans, Rashid is keen on impressing on all fronts in IPL 2022. The star spinner has begun well, bowling miserly spells against the Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals as Gujarat have picked up 2 wins from as many matches.
"I think I can be a much better batsman than what I am now," Rashid Khan told Reuters.
"I should be someone taking more responsibility in that department as well. I keep working on my batting.
"In the last couple of years, there's more expectation from me in that department that I can deliver crucial 20-25 runs with the bat.
"I know I have the skill and talent to deliver that, it's just about bringing that confidence in you that you can deliver."
