IPL 2022: Veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra cracked up the internet with a witty response to a fan who had asked if he was looking to join Chennai Super Kings in the new season. The 39-year-old went unsold at the IPL mega auction in February.
Veteran Indian spinner Amit Mishra has been quite active on social media ever since the start of the new Indian Premier League season. After failing to get a contact for the first time in years, Mishra has been a keen observer of the game from outside the field.
Interestingly, Amit Mishra has joned the list of cricketers who are cracking up the internet, more often than not, with their witty comments.
On Friday, Mishra was at his wittiest best as the 39-year-old made a cheeky remark about Chennai Super Kings, joking about the 4-time champions’ strategy to go for experienced players who are over 30 years of age.
CSK have been labelled as Dad’s Army in the past but the Men in Yellow have defied odds to win 4 titles, including 2 since their return from suspension in 2018. CSK’s average age has been over 30 and the defending champions did not go for a complete revamp even after a horror run in IPL 2020 wherein they failed to qualify for the play-offs for the first time.
A fan had asked Mishra if he is looking to join Chennai Super Kings for which the leg-spinner’s reply has gone viral on the micro-blogging website, Twitter.
“Sorry mate, Still two years younger for it,” Mishra said, cracking up the cricket fraternity on social media.
