IPL 2022: CVC Capital, which won the Ahmedabad franchise with a bid of Rs 5625 crores, was probed by the BCCI for its alleged links to betting companies and is now set to be given a clean chit by the board to run the team in the upcoming season.
CVC Capital is set to be given a clean chit by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), thus letting it own the Ahmedabad franchise from the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The company had come under the scanner after reports emerged of its alleged ties to betting companies after it won the Ahmedabad franchise in the auction that was held in Dubai in October.
The three-member committee that was set up by the BCCI to probe the links has given the company a clean chit and the board is now set to give it a 'Letter of Intent' soon, according to sources.
