IPL 2022: After issuing an official statement over skipper Sanju Samson's furore at a tweet by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) social media team, the franchise on Saturday said it was all part of a prank.
In a rather unexpected turn of events, just a day after making an official statement regarding the change in their social media approach over the Sanju Samson tweet uproar, Rajasthan Royals (RR) posted a cryptic video on Saturday morning, saying it was all part of the prank.
"This prank was incomplete without a fake audition. P.S. Tough luck, @yuzi_chahal #RoyalsFamily | #HallaBol," RR tweeted on Saturday.

Notably, Rajasthan Royals issued a statement on Friday saying the franchise will make changes to its social media approach after skipper Sanju Samson's call to be "professional". The Royals' social media had shared an edited picture of Samson sitting on the bus. But he seemed unhappy with their approach and took to Twitter to express his disappointment over the quip.

After issuing an official statement, the franchise had also posted a clip on Friday evening. Various members of the RR squad including veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Jimmy Neesham, Jos Buttler, bowling coach Lasith Malinga, and head coach Sangakkara could be seen in the clip. The 2008 champions posted the video with the caption, "One last time. PS: Love you, @IamSanjuSamson."
