Delhi Capitals' former captain Shreyas Iyer will undergo surgery to treat to his partially dislocated shoulder on April 8, Thursday. The India batting star will be operated at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. Iyer suffered the injury during a 3-match ODI series against England in Pune last month. His Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals will monitor his progress closely and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will extend full support as Shreyas Iyer recovers from his injury setback. Notably, Iyer was ruled out of IPL 2021 with the shoulder injury. India Today had earlier reported that the star batsman would need at least 5 months to completely recover and get back to playing competitive cricket. Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, named Rishabh Pant as their captain in the absence of Iyer for IPL 2021. The finalists from last year will begin their campaign against 3-time champions Chennai Super Kings on April 10 in Mumbai.More Related News
