IPL 2021, SRH vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore have begun their new season with back-to-back victories but captain Virat Kohli said the former finalists are not getting too excited and are focussed on getting their basics right in the upcoming matches.
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday said the former finalists are not reading too much into their strong start to the Indian Premier League 2021 season, saying the challenge would get tougher from hereon in the new season. RCB, for the first time since 2014, won their first two matches of the season. Virat Kohli's comments came after RCB pulled off a stunning defence of a 149-run total against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday. David Warner's former finalists imploded in their chase, losing their last 7 wickets for just 28 runs. SRH were cruising towards the finish line after a fifty from Warner and a handy contribution from Manish Pandey but they went from 115 for 2 to 143 to 9 at the end of 20 overs, falling short of the target by 7 runs.
