IPL 2021: Former batsman Matthew Hayden said that Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni remains the most valuable player in the league despite not being able to perform as a batsman.
Former Australia batsman Matthew Hayden said that he still looks as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni as the most valuable player in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Hayden said that while an ageing Dhoni may be struggling to score runs, he remains a valuable part of a team as a captain.
"Most valuable player, even though he hasn't had the best of tournaments so far, is still MS Dhoni. As a leader of the side, he is absolutely rising to the challenge. He is older obviously but he has got the reigns and he is cracking them hard and his side is responding," Hayden said on Star Sports.
