Mumbai Indians headed into their final league match of IPL 2021 with their chances of reaching the play-offs reduced to a mathematical equation. MI needed to beat SRH by at least 171 runs and post in excess of 250 if they were to leapfrog Kolkata Knight Riders and finish inside the top 4 of the IPL 2021 points table.
