Deepak Chahar starred in Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) second match of the IPL 2021 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) by picking up 4 important wickets. The pacer rattled the stumps of opener Mayank Agarwal on the fourth ball of Friday's match in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium and went on to land 3 more powerful punches on KL Rahul's men. The 28-year-old sent Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran and Deepa Hooda back in the pavilion inside 7 overs as Punjab were left reeling on 26 for 5. Chahar bowled as many as 18 dot balls taking 4 for wickets for just 13 runs, his best figures in the IPL. His perfect display of swing bowling accompanied by a lot of variations helped 3-time champions restrict Punjab to a paltry total of 106 for 8.
