AB de Villiers, who retired from international cricket in 2018, said on Sunday that he is open to coming out of retirement and representing South Africa at the T20 World Cup. The RCB star, who has been in fine form in IPL 2021, added he would have a chat with coach Mark Boucher after the season with Virat Kohli’s side.
Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman AB de Villiers reiterated that he is open to coming out of retirement and playing for South Africa in the lead up to the T20 World Cup if there is space for him in the senior national team. De Villiers’s comments came after the 37-year-old hit a 34-ball 76 not out in RCB’s 38-run win over KKR in their IPL 2021 match on Sunday. AB de Villiers, speaking to the press in Chennai on Sunday, said he will have a chat with South Africa head coach Mark Boucher at the end of IPL 2021 while assessing his form and fitness after RCB’s campaign in the 14th season of the T20 tournament. Notably, both the South Africa team management and AB de Villiers have spoken about the possibility of him returning to the senior national side for the T20 World Cup, which was postponed from last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.More Related News
