iPhone 13 gets price cut in India: Should you buy it?
India Today
Currently, the iPhone 13 is priced at Rs 69,900 for the base 128GB variant, and the iPhone 14's price in India starts at Rs 79,900 for the same storage option.
The iPhone 14 launched with great fanfare, but that excitement was short-lived after many realised the smartphone's similarities to its predecessor, iPhone 13. Although we are yet to review the new Apple smartphone and test its full potential, a brief look at the specifications does concur with early analysis. In that case, the pertinent question is - should you buy an iPhone 13 or iPhone 14? It won't be surprising if customers choose the former since it is available with a huge price cut (roughly Rs 10,000 off).
Currently, the iPhone 13 is priced at Rs 69,900 for the base 128GB variant, and the iPhone 14's price in India starts at Rs 79,900 for the same storage option. Things are more attractive on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart as the iPhone 13 is available with a bunch of sales offers. It essentially means you can buy the iPhone 13 for cheaper than its MRP.
In that case, let's take a closer look at the specifications and then analyse which to buy.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 weigh more or less the same, and both smartphones feature a 6.1-inch screen. On the back, we get the same 12-megapixel dual camera setup, and the front again houses a 12-megapixel selfie camera. Many have also spoken about the same A15 Bionic chipset, though the newer iPhone 14 will perform better as the processor has more cores. It might not be a significant jump, but an efficient performance could lead to longer battery life. Apart from that, both phones support all the 5G bands important to the Indian market. The only big difference here is that the iPhone 14 will get more years of iOS updates.
Honestly, if someone already has a budget of Rs 80,000, I don't see why the newer iPhone 14 shouldn't be considered. If you've never experienced the so-called Apple ecosystem, then I suggest you buy the iPhone 13 as it is more budget-friendly, and a newer variant won't offer substantial changes. If you want a more in-depth analysis, we'll be releasing the full review soon. So, stay tuned.
