Introspection is for all of us, says BJP’s Locket Chatterjee | Exclusive
India Today
BJP leader Locket Chatterjee on Thursday said that 'Introspection' is for all of us.
BJP leader Locket Chatterjee’s 'introspection' tweet after her party’s Bengal debacle has caused quite a stir. In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, the BJP MP speaks about whether it is time for the BJP's Bengal unit to introspect.
“Introspection is for all of us - for the BJP, and for me. It is easy to see why. After receiving 36 per cent of the vote in the 2021 assembly elections, our vote share has decreased,” she said.
“We can't blame each other. We must accept our defeat, particularly the decrease in our vote percentage, and work to restore it,” Chatterjee told India Today TV.
The “introspection” is also for the Trinamool Congress to figure out why, even after a massive win, they had to resort to rigging during civic polls, she said.
Alleging that the TMC engaged in massive rigging, the MP claimed the party does not even trust its own voters.
With the MP campaigning in Uttarakhand even as the BJP struggled in Bengal, rumours of Locket Chatterjee being dissatisfied with her party started doing the rounds. It was also being said that she is in talks with the TMC and will follow Babul Supriyo’s footsteps.
Rubbishing the rumours, Locket Chatterjee said this was the TMC’s strategy to spread misinformation.
