"Inquiry Today Itself": Centre On Actor's Censor Board Corruption Charge
NDTV
Tamil actor Vishal's allegation of corruption at the Central Board of Film Certification triggered an immediate response from the ruling BJP, with the Broadcasting Ministry rushing a senior officer to Mumbai to "conduct an inquiry today itself". The ministry's post on X came less than 24 hours after Vishal's detailed message claiming he had paid Rs 6.5 lakhs to the censor board.
The Government (of India) has zero tolerance for corruption and strictest action will be taken against anyone found involved. A senior officer from... has been deputed to Mumbai to conduct an inquiry today itself," the ministry said, calling the allegations "extremely unfortunate".
