
Indo-Pak Indus commissioners to meet in Delhi on March 23-24

The Indian delegation will be led by Pradeep Kumar Saxena, Indian commissioner for Indus Water while the Pakistan delegation will be led by Syed Muhammad Meher Ali Shah, Pakistan commissioner for Indus Water.
The Indus commissioners of India and Pakistan have agreed to hold the annual meeting of the Permanent Indus Commission on March 23 and 24 in New Delhi. This will be their first meeting in two-and-a-half years. Their last meeting was held in Lahore in August 2018. The Indian delegation will be led by Pradeep Kumar Saxena, Indian commissioner for Indus Waters while the Pakistan delegation will be led by Syed Muhammad Meher Ali Shah, Pakistan commissioner for Indus Waters. Under the provisions of the Treaty, both the commissioners are required to meet at least once a year alternately in India and Pakistan. Last year’s meeting which was earlier scheduled to be held in New Delhi, March 2020 was called off for the first time since the signing of the Treaty, with mutual consent, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.More Related News
