
Indian coast guard operations save seven fishermen stranded at high seas

The Indian Coast Guard rescued seven fishermen stranded at high seas after their fishing boat went adrift due to an engine failure. The fishermen, along with the boat, are being towed to Chennai.
The Indian Coast Guard successfully coordinated and rescued seven stranded fishermen of IFB SREE 190 nautical miles away from Chennai on January 2, 2022. The rescue operations began on December 31, 2021.
Indian Coast Guard Dornier aircraft identified and located the boat. The fishing boat was reportedly adrift due to engine failure.
