Indian Army sets up helpline for those willing to share info on Nagaland killings

In a statement, the Army said any relevant information related to the incident in Oting can be conveyed to the force on the helpline number.
The Indian Army has set up a helpline and shared WhatsApp number for people willing to share any information including videos, photos, or other material from original sources related to the incident in Mon district of Nagaland where 14 civilians were killed after a team of Army's special forces mistook them for insurgents.
"We once again deeply regret the loss of lives during the December 4 incident in Mon District. Loss of lives is indeed sad & unfortunate," the Army said in a statement.PEOPLE CAN SHARE INFORMATION ON WHATSAPPWe have taken out notices for people to come forward and assist us in the inquiry by providing any information including videos, photos or any other material from original sources and will be grateful for the same, the statement added.In the statement, the Army said any information can be conveyed on WhatsApp Messenger at +916026930283 or Army Exchange Helpline +913742388456.INQUIRY PROGRESSING EXPEDIOUSLYThe statement said the inquiry ordered by Army is progressing expeditiously and all efforts are being made to conclude it at the earliest."The Indian Army is also fully cooperating with the Special Investigation Team(SIT) inquiry ordered by State Govt and required details are being shared in a timely manner."ATTEMPT TO REACH OUT TO PEOPLEThe Indian Army also urged people to keep calm till the investigations continue. "We request all brothers and sisters of Nagaland to be patient and wait for the findings of the Army inquiry. We assure you that action will be taken in accordance with the law to secure justice for all."In a clear attempt to reach out to the people, the Army further stated the people of Nagaland have always cooperated and assisted the Security Forces in maintaining peace and tranquility over the last many decades.
