
Indian Army lends support to apricot growers in Ladakh’s Turtuk village

As part of an outreach programme, the Indian Army has joined hands with the local residents of Turtuk village in Ladakh in the production and distribution of apricots.
The Indian Army has joined hands with the local residents of Turtuk village near the Line of Control in the production and distribution of apricots. This is part of the Indian Army's outreach to people living in the border areas of the country.
The Army Chief during his earlier visits had directed Army units to engage with citizens living in border areas and empower them to realise their entrepreneurial potential. Turtuk was captured by the Indian Army along with several other villages in December 1971.
