India vs West Indies: Rohit Sharma was addressing a team huddle in Ahmedabad as India began preparations for the 1st ODI which will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.
India began training for their first of a 3-match ODI series against the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, February 4. Rohit Sharma will lead the side in the 3 ODIs, starting February 6. The ODIs will be followed by 3 T20is at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Rohit Sharma was seen addressing the team huddle at the training session on Friday. Notably, Rohit will take over as India's full-time limited-overs captain from Sunday. Rohit will also skipper India when they become the first team in international cricket to play 1000 ODIs.
Rohit Sharma returned to lead India from a hamstring injury that forced him to sit out of India's tour of South Africa.

Notably, India have begun training without 4 players, including openers Shikhar Dhawan and Ruturaj Gaikwad, batter Shreyas Iyer and standby player Navdeep Saini after the quartet tested Covid-19 positive along with 3 members of the support staff. All the 7 members of the Indian team are in isolation while being monitored by the BCCI medical team.
Meanwhile, former captain Virat Kohli, who will play under Rohit in the ODI and the T20I series, looked pumped up as he hit the nets at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday.
In photos shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Friday, Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur were also seen training at the world's largest cricket stadium.
