After stumbling to a five-wicket loss in the first T20I against India, New Zealand skipper Tim Southee on Wednesday said that the side can take pride in how Mark Chapman batted and took the visitors to a competitive total.
New Zealand skipper Tim Southee opened up on a 5-wicket defeat against India in the first T20I, saying that the Blackcaps played their best cricket and took the game till the very last over in Jaipur. Southee praised Mark Chapman for his 63-run knock, saying that they were able to post a good score on the board batting first.
Chasing 165 for victory, India reached the target in 19.4 overs thanks to outstanding knocks from Rohit (48) and Suryakumar Yadav (62) on a good batting wicket at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Earlier, Martin Guptill and Mark Chapman's entertaining half-centuries took New Zealand to 164 for six against India in the opening T20 International here on Wednesday.
