India vs New Zealand 1st Test: Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane failed to score half centuries on Day 1 of the first Test in Kanpur and Dinesh Karthik said that the pair will be under increased pressure with more red-ball cricket being played in the coming months.
Pressure on Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara is only going to increase every time they don't make a big score in the coming months with India set to play more red-ball cricket, veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has said. Rahane and Pujara failed to go past 50 on Day 1 of India's first Test against New Zealand.
While Rahane has not scored a century since December 2020, Pujara hasn't scored a ton since he made 193 against Australia in January 2019. "They would be disappointed, no doubt. There has been this word out that they need to score hundreds because they haven't in some time and with every match that pressure seems to increase," Karthik said on Cricbuzz.
