India vs New Zealand: Virat Kohli became the first India captain to register 10 ducks in Test cricket after he was dismissed without troubling the scorers on Day 1 of the 2nd Test in Mumbai by left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel.
India captain Virat Kohli set an unwanted record on Friday as he got out for a duck on his return to competitive cricket on Day 1 of the 2nd Test against New Zealand in Mumbai. Kohli was adjudged LBW by umpire Anil Choudhary and his review didn't work as there was no conclusive evidence to overturn the on-field decision.
Virat Kohli was baffled as he had a brief chat with umpire Choudhary before he walked back to the pavilion after spending just 4 deliveries in the middle on Day 1. Kohli was not impressed with the on-field call that went in favour of left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel as he believed that the ball had hit the bat before the pads. The bat, ball and the pad were close to one another at the moment of impact and replays were not able to produce a piece of conclusive evidence, which led to the third umpire staying with the on-field call.
