England tour of India 2021: Virat Kohli scored a half-century in the second T20I, on Sunday (March 14), to complete a new record as an Indian captain against England in the shortest format.
In all 15 T20Is that India and England played against each other before the start of Sunday’s fixture in Ahmedabad, an Indian captain had never scored a fifty in a T20I against England. Virat Kohli went on to score an unbeaten 49-ball 73 in the second T20I against England, on Sunday, in Ahmedabad. It was not only his first T20I fifty against England as captain, but it’s also the first instance of an Indian captain scoring a half-century against the English side. Before this, Kohli had played 13 T20Is against England with only one fifty that came way back in 2014 in the one-off T20I in Birmingham. Kohli had scored a 41-ball 66, besides captain MS Dhoni’s unbeaten 27 off 18, in India’s defeat by just three runs.More Related News
